Where paint remains sound and the problem is surface dirt, a quotation may cover cleaning alone. If the finish is peeling or needs repair, washing forms part of wider preparation. The quotation should distinguish these objectives and specify the work included.
Painted render, stone and an external insulation finish should not be treated as equivalent surfaces. Assessment considers the known system, joints and vulnerable areas. Product, pressure and rinsing are selected for that combination, following the relevant documentation.
Identify recurring stains and previous cleaning before work starts. Afterwards, keep the agreed method and comparable photographs. Cleaning does not repair cracks, replace waterproofing or, by itself, correct the cause of water ingress.
